An elaborate French-style display cabinet featuring richly figured wood veneers, floral marquetry panels, and an architectural crest with sweeping scrolls. The crest centers a figural scene surrounded by delicate decorative motifs, while a series of colorful courtship-scene medallions in ribbon-and-laurel metal frames ornamenting the upper frieze.
Two glazed front doors and glass side panels provide generous views of the display interior. Gilt bronze figural corner mounts, ornamental appliqués, and decorative metal trim enrich the cabinet’s warm wood tones. Geometric veneer patterns frame the floral decoration on the lower front and side panels, with a shaped apron and ornamental central mount completing the base.
The interior features a gold damask-patterned lining and two glass display shelves, creating an elegant setting for porcelain, glassware, or decorative collectibles. A lower compartment offers additional storage beneath the lined display section.
Style:
French Louis XV/Rococo Revival, with neoclassical accents. The scrolling crest, floral decoration, and ornate mounts evoke Rococo design, while the symmetrical construction and ribbon-and-laurel medallion frames introduce Louis XVI–style elements.
