A vintage matched pair of oversized bergère armchairs in the Louis XVI style with a neoclassical closed cocoon frame, ribbon-and-reed (twisted rope) carving on the seat rail, rosette blocks at the leg junctions, turned and stop-fluted tapered legs, and small scrolled volutes at the arm terminals. The generous rounded back and deep loose cushion make these a "marquise"/oversized bergère variant.

In good, structurally sound, and sturdy condition with no smells, stains, soiling or other notable damage to fabric or frames EXCEPT there is some slight wear to gold finish on one of the arm fronts as shown.
